Based in Marquette, Michigan, I am a freelance editor who specializes in fiction but works and edits across the publishing spectrum. This includes working with indie and traditionally published authors in areas including mass media, non-fiction, adult science-fiction/fantasy, fiction, and children's books.
I have also expanded into audiobook narrating and editing. With a background in audio-visual production as well as book editing I am able to take a meticulous approach to every story I narrate.
I am a member of the Editorial Freelancer Association(EFA) and the Upper Peninsula Publishers and Authors Association(UPPAA) and currently serve on the UPPAA board of directors as Membership Chair. After graduating from Southern Illinois University with my Master's in Mass Communication and Media Arts I gained experience in writing and editing for public and corporate video productions, developing an adult continuing education class at Spokane Community Colleges, and editing a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction for local authors. Having a background in editing the written word as well as audio and visual media has led to a slightly confusing resume but I like to say I can edit almost anything.
Although currently based in Marquette, Michigan I have lived and traveled all over the United States. Such diverse places as Springfield, Illinois; Knoxville, Tennessee; Tucson, Arizona; and Metaline Falls, Washington have all been places that I have called home. The experiences in each place have provided an eclectic background and given me insight that informs my everyday life and my professional editing.
When not at my desk, I can be found drawing, painting, sewing, quilting, exploring the beautiful Upper Peninsula, taking pictures or curled up with a good book.
